Mature apricot tree advice

Acquired a garden with a mature apricot tree in it, however this spring one side of the tree looks in a bad way and the leaves and buds are curling up and dying. Anyone know why or what to do?

Has anyone used a "weed and feed" fertilizer near that side of the tree? Looks like a possible chemical kill to me.
