I've heard that Minowase Daikon radishes are great at breaking up and loosening compacted soils, and I know that the seed dealers say they get up to 76 millimeters by 67 centimeters or so ( 3 inches by 24 inches US), but I've read very mixed reviews from non-professional growers. Can anyone explain the differences in performance?

Also I'm a novice gardener, so please break it way down for me.

I planted one year. Nothing grows faster and they are quite pleasant. I put the seeds in the growing area and they got quite large.

Eleven liters of juice was made from garden daikon radish. This is my method of preserving for off season use. The finished product is similar to a potato and is essentially used in the same manner. This was my first year using this vegetable.

Wow! That’s a quick turnaround! I just direct sowed some, which have germinated some small sprouts already. Looking forward to seeing them grow.

I understand the office at the AFC where I stay found my radish seeds after all. This means my garden this year will have some 24 kinds of radishes. I also spent $30 on a vegetable seed variety pack from Walmart.com since I got a wok and some bamboo cooking utensils for the holidays. Come spring and summer I'm going to be eating good!

Grew some white Daikons , and they got very large - 3feet+
They are great for breaking through stubborn soils, and just leave a few and let them rot down, as well as seed.

Yes, there are also similar strains of forage-quality radish (Raphanus sativus) with very large taproots (to 6 feet) that are grown primarily to "bio-till" the soil. These "tillage radishes" cultivars are given names like 'Fracker', 'Groundhog', and 'Sodbuster'.
