Hi, I am growing watermelon for the first time. I planted non-hybrid seeds. now the Seedlings are 3 weeks old. I have noticed that a few leaves have light-green spots over them. Do you think the light-green spots are disease related or pest related. Cures? waiting for reply. Thanking you in anticipation.

I see two things of concern. One is a sign of watering too often as shown by the browning of some of the leaf tips and margins. Of lesser importance are leaf miners. As far as the light green or yellowish spots I think it is a varietal trait. By any chance is the variety of melon named Moon and Stars?
