Issues with side of lawn.

I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with their mowers falling off the sides of their lawn, say if the they had a raised lawn or trenches for hedges in it. Do your lawnmowers cut into the side of your lawn causing deep gashes in the ground? I've already had some help with this but was wondering if it was a wide spread issue.

Not since I got rid of the lawn.

Of course, properly edging with a trimmer rather than a mower is the straight solution to that problem.
