Does this plant look familiar? There's a slight flowery scent that reminds me of a jasmine.

It reminds me of a sweet pepper bush but I cannot see the pic good enough to decide if those are fruits or flowers or both.

Yes, I concur. Sweet Pepperbush or Summersweet (Clethra alnifolia), in the Clethra Family (Clethraceae).

I have a pink-flowered cultivar in my garden (Clethra alnifolia 'Ruby Spice'). It does well in clay soil.
