I’ve been growing my avocado for around two years now and the leaves are pretty brown but I’ve managed to salvage it. I’ve just noticed today that now the actual pit has shrivelled on one side, is this normal?? Is there anything I can do now to bring it back or is it too late?

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

The fleshy cotyledons (seed leaves) on your Avocado (Persea americana) will slowly decompose with time.
Their function is now over and their loss will not harm the plant.

Avocado (Persea americana), in the Laurel Family (Lauraceae), originally native to southern Mexico and Central America, now grown worldwide for its flavourful, oil-rich fruit. Also commonly grown as an ornamental houseplant.
