We took a drive out on the weekend to Kaisei which is about an hour from where I live. They were holding a hydrangea festival. I love the rainy season here for this very reason! Also, I think the beauty of the rice fields against the hydrangeas is quite striking!

From another part of the park, irises, hydrangeas and sunflowers! If you look closely by the mountains, you can see a hazy Mount Fuji at the top there with some snow still left on it!

Those are so beautiful! I remember being in my grandmother's garden and her having those around. I was fascinated, and I just wanted to check on them everyday. They looked exactly like that and they were beautiful. I guess that's how my passion for gardening started.

I love them too. I hate the rainy season, as often it's kind of gloomy (today has been raining non stop!) but one thing I thoroughly enjoy are the hydrangeas that bloom at this time of the year.

Gorgeous pictures you took! I love both photos.

They hydrangeas are indeed beautiful against the rice field and the city behind it, and I love the look of those passing people with their umbrellas. Fantastic capture!

They're gorgeous! Ever since I remember, I've always loved hydrangeas. They look like little clouds in pastel colors:love:

So beautiful! I love hydrangeas. Their pastel color makes them one of my favorite flowers ever. I just moved to a new house, so I'm hoping I'll be able to have some in my garden!

two together, shows the beginning pearls then how they further open into tiny flowers. this one is doing so well in the front of my house which faces north. gets morning direct sun for about 4 hours then later the sun moves to give it the shade from the house.

We took a trip this afternoon to King John's nursery the other side of Etchingham from here and a walk around their garden. They had a newly planted bit that had one that was vivid sky blue like I have never seen before. Being in a new part it was a small plant with only a couple of flowers, but they have some good mature ones, so it promises to be really spectacular in time.
