Herb pests

I have tiny little flies constantly circling my herbs. What can I do about this? A Google search doesn't elaborate well as it comes up with ways to stop slugs and other insects which I don't think these are.
I don't want to use chemicals

Please help!

Hello @Incywincyspider ... are your herbs in pots? Are these little flies actually doing damage to the plants?

They're in pots and appear to have little brown spots.
I can't be completely sure this is caused by the little tiny flies but it seems logical.
What can I do? Whether it's the flies or not?

I think your plants have sciarid flies, ( or fungus gnats as they`re otherwise called. These can be sorted out with nematodes, or else sticky yellow pads that you can hang above the plants. I will see if I can find a decent link to read .......

I think you can try to save your pot with these insect traps. I had such a problem but not with herbs, but with flowers in the pot also. The sticks didn't help before I moved it to another place. I think these insects lived somewhere near the pot. You can try to move the pot too, it can help you.
