The plants look healthy but some of the leaves are curling downwards. They were planted in the early spring and it is now beginning of Sept. Anyone out there with any experience with this? I’ve been watering 2X per week ( I’m in central PA) but we’ve had a lot of rain the last few days. Thanks for any suggestions!

So today I took a closer look under the leaf curls and found tiny black bugs! Aphids can be black so that’s how I’m treating it. I’ll use a soapy water spray that I’ll repeat every week. Hopefully that’s it!

Not aphids but leaf roller larvae/caterpillars. I unrolled the leaves and found one caterpillar in each roll. Drowned the suckers in soapy water. Good thing I’m not squeamish. Next time, I’ll start by looking at the leaves with my glasses on!
