We got a thread going on the uk forum called 2013 growing season.

We use it as a diary & reference thread for whats going on at a particular time, if you say what you've sown, potted on, planted out on a particular date then its easy for others to follow, you to go back & see when you did something and record results/harvests/failures etc.

Its for edible gardening only though, thought it might get a bit cluttered if it were all sorts.

Does that sound like something we'd be interested in over here, or are we all in too many different time/ climate zones? :)

I agree that it's better to just do than to get bogged down in details. Unfortunately I'm the kind of person who will worry afterwards that I should have kept a record of a certain process. A part of me always feels that I may want to write about my trees one day, and if I don't have the photos to go with it, that can't happen.

The tree in my profile photo is one that I've kept a record of since I started it as a cutting six years ago. And I actually did write an article about it's development which is published at HubPages. But I've got so many trees I'll never be able to do that with all of them.

So, if you do the journaling with just SOME of them, that would be good, right?

I keep saying I am going to start a gardening journal, but I never quite get around to it. I find it is very easy to forget what you planted where in just a matter of weeks. Of course there's the instance where you are trying to do something and you can't remember what you did and how you did it that worked out so well the last time. One of these days...

Oh organization is the key I do believe. Never enough time to do all we wish to!

Now zigs that is a very interesting idea!! I would think it would be a wonderful idea. Even with so many zones it could be catagorized in some fashion.

Fingers crossed for you Zigs! This thing has dragged on for quite some time now. I know you'll be relieved to finally have it done once and for all. Maybe you can have a mobile garden? Is there much to grow in Winter in your part of the country?

Ta :)

Won't be much growing now, should have sorted crops for winter back in the summer. I'll just see where I end up.

Well I think it looks great! Are you just tired of living there and downsizing or what? I really like the yard you have in that first picture it takes you to. A firm offer sounds good! Like you said especially in this market.
