Fresh lettuce

I only plant 8 heads at a time and got 3 kits this time when walmart put hem on end of season sale .I eat a salad everyday and some of the lettuce I just put out for the wild bunnies here and have even seen the deer eating the cut offs i throw out for the bunnies .The kits were a dollar each from walmart .I planted one kit 4 weeks ago and already snipping at it .I pick the whole heads the last time because it was getting warm out and I needed them for dinner i was making for company .

I should start growing my own lettuce as we consume a lot of it in my home. How long does it take to grow? I am interested in growing iceberg and romaine.
