First Time Grower Question

How much dirt does a 55 gallon grow bag need? Im assuming you fill the bag 3 quarters full. I bought a pack of 5 grow bags. Trying to get an idea. Sorry for the noobie question

On my grow bags I leave enough room to add an inch or two of compost and mulch. Just leave enough room so as when you water it doesn't overflow.

I agree with Chuck, no point in paying for bags you don't use, and the more soil the plants are in the better they will like it. Even if their roots don't fill it the moisture and temperature stay more stable. Remember, as the soil settles and the organic content starts to rot down the level will drop a bit anyway.

How much dirt does a 55 gallon grow bag need?

If you use Hügelkultur in containers the answer is a lot less with production on many plants equaling or just below a garden plant's production.
