Beautiful colour, Zigs :) I had never seen those before, I didn't even have idea they even existed, lol. Shame on me, I know, I think its very easy to know growing edibles has never been my thing...

That's different Zigs. You say it's sweet but is the flavour as good as a red beetroot?

Wasn't as beetrooty flavourwise, mind you, I ate it in a fish and pineapple curry :)

Haven't got an oven to roast one @Becky :(

Oh my that looks so delicious zigs - I'm instantly having an " om nom nom nom” moment just imagining the taste - good thing its only a photo - as I could easily devour that in seconds I  them so much.

Especially as - although I grow the full range of rainbow beet - the yellow has always been my absolute favorite either cooked or raw and if you haven't tried it yet - makes a great addition to salads when grated and mixed in :)

Gratings a good idea, got a grater out of a skip recently :)

Oh I sure did and am looking forward to seeing your lurkers :D especially as I'm highly unlikely to see any of mine let alone get to eat them - as the rabbits - after devouring the melon patch - have now started feasting on them and at the speed they eat - they'll be gone in next to no time

Hope you remember to thoroughly sterilize that grater before you use it - otherwise you could be very

A bargain find then :D

Many thanks - however - although I'm more than a little mad at the amount of produce they've devoured this year - as its the first time they've ever been a problem and its only the extraordinarily hot summer that is causing them to do it - as there is nothing to eat elsewhere - I can't really begrudge them having a feast - especially as I've had plenty of everything else with still more yet to come :)

I've never seen a yellow beetroot either. Does it stain you like the red one? I love them roasted, boiled with tzasiki and rice (had it in Greece) and grated raw in salads too. I'll keep my eye open now for the yellow one. Thanks for enlightening me Zigs.

Got to admit I'm quite traditional with my beetroot, but that does look nice Zigs.
I thought it was mainly the natural chemicals causing beetroot's colour which also gave it its flavour.
I'd expect white or golden beets to taste like turnips and swedes.
