Does anyone use a max min thermometer anymore?

We know these are a cheap and easy way to monitor minimum and maximum temperatures in the greenhouse or outdoors. But how many of us gardeners actually own one?

My father in law uses one for his greenhouse, he is a very old-school guy tho. He seems to know his way around gardening and greenhouses so well. As for me? Well, I'd first need to start gardening again

I've never had a thermometer like this, but I think that I should buy one. During winter, I had to monitor the temperature in my attic, because I was keeping my miniature roses there. It would be much easier, if I had a special thermometer.
