Hi all. Planting a new garden, flowering perennial plants/shrubs. I just don't know that much about what grows best in this area or how to arrange. This spot gets morning sun, soil is average. A little clay. Doesn't have to be filled with plants, but do want some character and ground cover. Near the drain I want something to hide the berm. Right now it has fabric and mulch. no plants. It's about 14' by 10'. Here is a pic of the area.

What planting zone are you in?
One suggestion is placing higher growing plants near the back of the area, and lower growth near the front. It's really about what feels best for you.
