Driveway planting design ideas

So this is how the driveway looks and my stepmom wanted to plant some things in the grass patch in the middle so I was hoping to get some ideas for designs and plants. .

How much sun does it get?
I'm thinking a tall ornamental grass in the center (would also give you winter interest), surrounded by a ring of hosta, for color and flowers.

a Japanese Maple would look lovely there, but they can be fussy so it depends on the conditions there. How much light does it get, how much rain do you get, what is the soil like etc?

Maybe a daylily boarder with some type of tree/shrub in the center for a vocal point.

Like that Tech ....................Or a wedding Cake Tree Cornus controversa Variegata for the middle I think they look great against a green background
