Canna 'Firebird' (close-up above and full-plant view below) (from my garden, Oct. 3, 2016). The 'Firebird' has crimson-red blooms and forest green foliage on a 3-foot plant. Back on June 7th, I planted ten pairs of roots of different Canna plants. Only two plants grew and they did not flower until a week ago. I was not able to photograph the first plant before the bloom died but I was able to capture this unique looking bloom.

This plant looks like a piece of art. It's beautiful and very elegant. I love crimson red, it's such a gorgeous color:)

Is that copper tubing separating your rows? I use copper tubing in my garden too, for slug and snail control. And you?
