Can u please tell me if my mango died on me

I had germinate my seed and it grown roots so I planted roots facing up like I was told and it was doing fine till now. It turn brown not sure if it should be like this. New to gardening!! I will post before after pixs

It is probably dead. Gently scratch the skin on a small area of the shoot. If it is a greenish color it might come back. This looks like too much watering.
