I hope someone could identify that so we will all have an added knowledge.
It is Paulownia tomentosa, known by several common names, but I think its been pretty definitely ID'ed by posters above.

Wow it looks fantastic, what a great inheritance! I did think of an umbrella magnolia but on second look I am now not so sure, that being said I would just be guessing anyway!

Empress Tree (Paulownia tomentosa), also known as Princess Tree or Foxglove Tree, is the most common of seven or so, species
in the type genus of the small Family, Paulowniaceae. The tree is widely grown for its beautiful flowers, large leaves, fast growth, and useful timber. However it is also sometimes considered an invasive tree in parts of its non-native range.
Paulownia tomentosa is native to China and Korea, with other species native also to Burma, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
