Can someone identify this vine or plant

It looks like a sweet potatoe vine? But I'm thinking it's something else. It's been pretty well destroyed but I recently added new soil, fed with fertilizer & low & behold this started happening? I have no idea what it is or how to care for it. I live in so ca & am a garden noob. Please help.

Looks like a variety of morning glory to me.

Yeah oddly enough neither am i chuck

For me it looks like two kinds of Ipomoea batatas ( morning glory yam - May be the second name, if I'm not mistaken). With purple leaves and yellow. These plants are often planted together in one pot for contrast.

After googling, think Larisa could be right. All my morning glories have leaves with smooth edges, not forked .. When I googled, I did see some morning glory with forked leaves.. Very interesting.. I'm scared of morning glories as ours here are a nightmare to get rid of..
