My first-year woodland sunflower is producing buds already!

My 2nd year cutleaf coneflower is blooming for the first time.

And the Western sunflower I bought in spring has been blooming for a couple weeks.

My burning pit edge. Transformed to a much more native space, mostly just by placing seedheads here after chopping them down in my garden for years. Very little maintenance other than cutting back reed canary grass and creeping thistle. They were growing here first uncontrollably, which is what pushed me to introduce native plants to this space.

Blooming in this photo are cardinal flower, joe pye weed, false sunflower, and scarlet bee balm.
