I would like to see couple feet of snow stay around for weeks.

I know several are going to say there isn’t that much water in snow.

We use to have Winters with snow and a lot of it but come Spring mud up to your backside.

We’ve had rain but it just runs off. The problem is we have not had snow in years and this hard Clay has no moisture.

What brought this up I went for a ride with my wife. I was worried about the trees being stressed last year and our Conservation Department said it was old trees. This year it is far worse and it isn’t old trees.

Lebanon Missouri has only hit a season total of 2ft twice in recorded history so i wouldn't cross my fingers.

Since it has never happened in recorded history, according to AI, it seems very unlikely...

Notwithstanding @Martin Mikulcik data.

I grew up in Springfield area, and it never came close to that while I was there in the 50s and 60s...

EventSnowfall / DepthDate
1912 storm18.0" daily snowfallFeb 20, 1912

1970 depth17.0" snow depthMar 17, 1970
1980 depth16.0" snow depthFeb 8, 1980

In Lebanon, the history is even less record depth...

If you are seeking nitrogen that @dirty hands quoted at 2 to 20 pounds per acre, you can get much more of it and without all the hassles of snow with a good cover crop.

I get up to 150 pounds per acre with Sunn Hemp and up to 120 pounds per acre with alfalfa for a whole lot less trouble than two feet of snow would make. 🤠

I was looking at whole winter data not just one event and it was 1911/12 and 77/78 if i remember right

Last few years around here have been pretty typical as well as far as snow goes

That 1912 storm must have been a real humdinger as it set longstanding records all across southwest Missouri.

I’m not talking about Nitrogen we need water.

I remember many times not being able to drive back to our place for several days because of snow.

Then because of mud.

I have seen snow taken off the road high as the Electric Poles.

I have not seen snow for several years since moving down here from Scotland. I miss those crisp cold mornings.

If its going to be cold it might as well snow too.
My biggest issues are the deer eating everything and the heavy lake effect snow on trees and bushes.

I need to adjust my print size on my google feed lol.

Showed that to my wife she said BS. Like she said in ‘83 65 HWY was down to one lane.

I remember on February 14 one year supposedly have flurries woke up to a very deep snow.

One time I had to walk 5 miles in a blizzard. Went by a house on fire a woman died but couldn’t get fire trucks in there because of the snow. Next day caught a ride we was following a Snow Plow the road was closing up behind us. I couldn’t drive out of my place for weeks because nobody could open the road. Road Grader tried but couldn’t.

Let’s put it this way we could always count on snow until 14 years ago. I could pretty much predict the Winter back then.

Thats the fun snow.

I think it was winter 78 in the Chicago burbs it snowed like that for a few days. You couldn't see the houses from the road. We had to keep the front door shoveled out. When you opened the door all you saw was a wall of snow as high as the roof.

2 feet of snow on the ground here feels like a normal winter.

Was watching the local news. One city gets their water from a lake and they are worried about having water.

What is funny we was just over that way and they are better shape than us.

Once again it was forecasted inch and half of rain. Watched the Radar. It once again went North and South of us.

The trees have been stressed the last few years. This year is bad half the trees are brown.

Last year the Conservation Department said it was just older trees coming of age. This year they’ve been quiet.
