Cuttings Over Winter

I took my first ever soft wood cuttings from a weigela, a Euryops and and an upright fuschia, Lady Boothby, maybe 6 weeks ago. I made some mistakes and had to repot them but they all seem to have taken, naturally not as far along as if I had done it correctly in the first place. Question is should I leave them in their 8cm pots over winter or put them into the ground before the soil temperatures start dropping? Thanks.

IMO if you have any doubts about their root system I would repot into a container twice the size that they are in now. Cooler/cold soil temps will slow down root growth. I would much rather have a robust root system this spring than I would an iffy root system struggling through the winter.

Thanks Chuck. Does that mean, after repotting, you would keep them properly indoors, eg on a window sill, or left in an unheated greenhouse?

I would keep them in the most growth conducive environment I could which would be indoors in a brightly lit area.
