Can anyone please identify this plant? Is growing up a fence on our new property. CCurrently about 3ft high. Wiring behind it is 2"x2", for size reference. Thanks so much in advance!

It looks like an offshoot from a shrub that may have been there. Certainly doesn't look "flowery". Someone who knows will pop by any time now and enlighten both of us :)

False Spiraea (Sorbaria sorbifolia) in the Rose Family (Rosaceae) is native to much of temperate Asia and the Islands of Japan and Sakhalin. Its flowers and dry follicular fruit do resemble those of Spiraea, but the leaves more closely mimic those of the more distantly related Rowans or Mountain Ash (Sorbus). There is a selected cultivar with enhanced red color on the new growth (Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Sem'). The plant pictured might be this form, though I wouldn't be surprised if unnamed seedling or clone rivaled it.
