Will my seeds germinate & sprout in an air-tight container?

I have put some freshly planted seeds in a tupperware container, put it next to my bathroom heater, and covered it with plastic wrap to retain moisture/humidity (I can't find the lid to the container, before anyone asks!).

Will these seeds actually sprout or do they need fresh air?

I tried Google and found a thread on some other gardening forum suggesting they will sprout and this actually works well. But I think that was just with a lid on (so not totally air-tight).

What do you guys think?

They should sprout but as soon as the first one emerges you need to take that off. You could open it every few days until then and let some fresh air in. Humidity domes and that are good for growing fungus too.
