Latin plant names are not always long and hard to remember. Try this one for size Welcome-home-husband-though-never-so-drunk which is the name of various succulent plants. Easier to say Sempervivum tectorum or Sedum acre.

The meaning and/or etymology of both Latin and common names is so often very interesting.

I can tell you Sempervivum tectorum roughly translates as 'live-forever of the roof' and Sedum acre means 'sharp (or bitter) stonecrop'.

However the origin of 'welcome-home-husband-though-never-so-drunk' remains an intriguing mystery.
