I live in a tropical place ( South India), which has a very dry climate and moderate rainfall. Temperatures here exceed 100 Fahrenheit on a regular basis. I would like to know some tree varieties that I could grow without focusing too much on maintenance. The bigger varieties are preferred.

Hi tintiano - although most trees do require some sort of maintenance in order to keep them flourishing - there are quite a few low varieties that would suit your climate.
However it would be hard to know just what to suggest without first knowing what preference you have - are you looking for something that is evergreen or something with striking foliage or flowers or even something that bears fruit or nuts ?

Sounds a like lot south Texas. I have a couple of crepe myrtles that I have had for years and the only thing I have done to them is plant them and they are gorgeous. Crepe myrtles come in sizes from 2 1/2' to over 30'.
