Whats wrong with this Chicago Hardy?

I recently purchased this Chicago Hardy fig. It’s got a tall skinny stalk… and leaves at the top. Sellers says he never pruned it. I call BS.

Will it get branches further down the trunk? It also has these white specks on the leaves.
Looking for thoughts? Or should I get my money back?

He probably did not prune it but what he did do was grow it in a place with very insufficient lighting and it grew leggy. Those white spots are not a disease or insect, they are caused by improper watering.

Ok. Soooo leave it and hopefully it branches out and grows a thicker trunk and lower stems?

It may well have been propagated which is done in a stick form. You can see the root when you repot it.

Post a photo of the whole plant so I can see. Take the lid off so I can see the flair. The plant in the white pot is planted too deep the pot.
