.

I thought maybe things changed but this forum is totally out of date for posting youtube videos that work on other forums. Having Microsoft doesn't help either, time to switch to Linux Mint.

I've just put this on YouTube.
They say it won't play in all regions, due to copyright restrictions, despite the fact the original recording is over 90 years old.

I watched a couple of days ago, film from the early sixties, a "pop musical," on the Talking Pictures TV channel.
I was impressed with the performance of Susan Maughan, a name I hadn't heard in decades. Known for, "Bobby's Girl."
Here's a clip. This made a refreshing change. Her acting wasn't bad either.
Nice view across the river of the Royal Festival Hall too.

Followed by a duet with Joe Brown, her co-star.

There were several programmes on Elkie Brooks on Sky Arts last night.
In one of them she sang this.
I've known this song for fifty years.
"Everyone's favourite," I guess, will be that of Diana Ross and the supremes.

I was unaware that the original recording is this, by Dionne Warwick's sister.

I was letting one of my jukebox wallbox/adaper/i-pod/tuner/amp systems, play random recordings from the selections I've put on the iPod and amongst others, it played this. It was a #2 hit in both the UK and the USA in 1965.

I've always liked tunes, where in them, there's a sequence of descending chords beginning with, a Maj7th.

As a tune, it's so easy to play.

Today I really like the greatest hits of 2000, I've been listening to them all day.

I'm currently surfing Starz and listening to a mix of indie rock and classic hits. There's something timeless about both. Lately, I've been vibing to tracks from artists who are true stars in their own right, like Tame Impala and Fleetwood Mac. Their music always feels like it transcends time!

Had a nice bit of music Saturday, went up to London, had a meal with daughter and husband in a Lebanese restaurant off Sloan Sq. , then went and saw Handel's 'Creation' in the Cadogan hall, nothing like a bit of live music sometimes.
Got back horridly late and was a bit crippled by the climb from Embankment to Charring cross, it was the end of a longish day and that's a tall stairway up to the station.

Ideal combination, Hoagy Carmichael and Dick Haymes.

Abe Most played clarinet.

Then there's this. The song is from one of my favourite classic films of the same name.
