And should I worry? He appears to be feasting on another insect, which I assume is generally good.

Can't tell for sure but from the angle of the picture it appears to be a variety of Robber Fly and there are many varieties of them.

Hmmm, hard to tell, your right. Maybe a young one? I'll try to get a better pic if I see him again. Also saw a mantis out there today, plenty of bugs for them to prey on. At least no stink bugs for a few days now.

Not a robber fly. Typically an insect-eater is not a plant eater, but it's also worth noting that if it's an insect eater that eats good insects, it could also cause damage in that sense. I wouldn't bother it unless there's proof that it's bad.

That was my worry jb, that he was eating beneficial insects. But he can't be worse than stink bugs!
