What is best time to collect pine seeds and to plant seeds? Can i collect seeds in autumn and sow them straight away?
My other question what is the difference between Scots pine and Pinus Sylvestri? I know in my city there is lots of Pinus Sylvestri trees or so called Baltic pine, but not sure is it the same as Scots pine?

Scots (Scotch) Pine is Pinus sylvestri. Depending on your climate, you can plant the seeds in the fall and leave them outside to stratify or put the seeds in your refrigerator over the winter. I have had equal success with both methods in zone 7b.

The Latin name for Scots Pine is Pinus sylvestris. Other common names in English are Scotch Pine, European red Pine, and Baltic Pine.
