No way an expert at recognising plants but could the 2nd one be a very poorly looking Acer?

Aah, yes, now I've looked more closely at other images of dissectum leaves, I see what you mean. Thank you @alp and @Upsy Daisy!@Upsy Daisy is correct. the plant has been scorched by wind or sun. Please leave it in a sheltered place, away from strong sun and wind. Morning sun is what they want. It's a lovely plant, but UNDER STRESS!
In fact, it's so scorched at the ends that it has managed to baffled our knowledgeable @Owdboggy !

It was the denial of it being an Acer which stopped me. I did not want to be disagreeing.
