As dawn ripened, I harvested peas, broad beans and leafy greens from my small wind-battered patch. Small , simple crops and deeply satisfying.

Picked some more blueberries

Heirloom cherry tomatoes and assorted sweet peppers. Need to pick blueberries but it's been raining all afternoon!

Victoria plums, a lot of the time don't have a lot but this year is different.

Thai Red Noodle beans. Quite delicious tossed around with a little oil on hot iron. Different than green beans, not sure how to describe the flavor other than an agreeable earthiness.

More blueberries! The birds, squirrels and deer are even tired of them! Made 2 big batches of sorbet and the rest in the freezer for more baking later.

This Louisiana Green Velvet Okra is a new favorite. Productive, tender and flavor wise, I like it over Clemson Spineless.

I like that Louisiana Green Velvet okra also....but today's pickings were a visit to the storage shed where red potatoes, yellow onions and red onions are stored from a May harvest from the garden. Its been a good year for storage thus far, drier than the last couple of years and headed into September we have ample food ready for winter.

Its about time to start some of the cool weather crops for fresh eating but these spring crops are still very tasty.

I had four banana plants produce this year, I gave one bunch away to a neighbor and just dehydrated this bunch of Bananas from a single banana plant. Two more plants to harvest, hopefully no more plants produce this year. It's a lot of work...
