What Are Currants and What Do You Do With Them?

A currant is a type of raisin. Raisins are dried grapes. There are plenty of varieties, but in the U.S., "raisin" typically refers to dark-colored dried large grape. Currants come from Black Corinth grapes similarly to how golden raisins come from sultana grapes.9 Feb 2023
Sultanas are made from green seedless grapes, particularly the Thompson Seedless variety. Unlike raisins, sultanas are typically coated in an oil-based solution prior to drying to speed up the process. For this reason, they are often lighter in color than raisins and currants.19 Jun 2018

I've always known sultanas and raisins as dried grapes but currants as dried blackcurrants.

I wasn't at all sure which is why I looked it up. Ziggy's ''currants'' were from very small grapes. I think they probably needed thinning out a bit
