What makes you think you have these diseases in your okra? Please send pictures of both sides of the leaves

Hope these pics help, Chuck......I have already pulled up and disposed of the plants with the prominent Yellow vein mosaic (the underside of the leaves were COATED with mini-critters) and pulled off and disposed of critter coated leaves........all 4 pics are of different plants

I wished I could have seen pics of the mosaic vein plants. However, I am sure that ALL of the symptoms are insect related and NOT a disease. Of the two diseases you mentioned, I don't think they exist in the US or if they do it is very rare and extremely unlikely to affect a home gardener. In the pics shown, that damage is caused by sucking insects, either thrips or whiteflies, probably those whiteflies. Spray with spinosad

Thanks Chuck......will do. GOTTA say, the www. pictures for those diseases looked EXACTLY like what I was looking at......wish I had not freaked, pulled and disposed before deciding to bring it to the forum.

When it come to a virus they are fairly uncommon. Most of the time what resembles a virus is usually weather related or nutritionally related with insect damage coming in at a distant 3rd place.
