My sunflowers looking good so far lol but a long way to go (y) I'll have to find a space in the garden and pop them in see what happens Hehe I'm confident they will get eaten by rabbits or something worse maybe

I want to try! I had 2 huge monsters last year. Grew taller than our garage!I still have to sow my seeds for this year! I better get on it. The one below is the one I grew! It was my first time ever!

Man I just looked at the dates, i'm way behind. Last year, mine didn't really open up until early September. I always start everything late. Maybe i will still try :)

The slugs got half of the ones I had started, and put a serious hurting on the half they left me!  I'm going to plant some more. I wasn't thinking of trying for height, but maybe most flowers or charismatic cutie! :)

The ones I'm intending for most flowers are taken from a bag of birdseed. ;) I had a volunteer under my bird feeder that had 14 flowers at the same time. Makes perfect sense when you think about it - if the seed company is growing solely to produce seed, that means more flowers!! (y) See the female goldfinch helping herself to the fresh seeds? :D

The ones I'm hoping to enter for charismatic cuties are one of the varieties of red/orange ones. I ordered them online, and have forgotten the type they said they were.

This sounds like fun! I have planted sunflowers a few times this year. But they keep getting knocked over by neighborhood dogs.

Now all I need to do is quit lurking and get to commenting so I have 50 posts!
