Oh it's fine to enter now, even if your posts aren't at 50 yet - it's at the time of the draw that it counts (which is months away). It's more to stop someone joining at the last second to enter, as it's fun to watch the progress in the thread :).

The only important date is the 31st August, as long as there is a photo in by then, that's what counts :). It's just good fun to see a bit of progression throughout.

  • You have until 31st August to submit a photo of your sunflower, together with the measurement. When taking a photo of your sunflower you must make sure to write your Gardening Forums username on a piece of paper and feature it in the photo.

I'm in!! (y) I bought two different types of seeds, and took 20 out of a bag of birdseed. :ROFLMAO:

Cool! I might have a shot then. Plenty of sunflower seed infused bird poop in my side yard.
:D Let that part go wild a while! No need for mowing, no weed-whacking... :ROFLMAO: Oh! But wait, there's more! I keep reading, and there's this:

Oh we have everything on LI zigs. Are you trying to force me into buying sf seeds?
Hmm, come to think of it, there is a nice pub right next to the garden center.

Remember, @LIcenter, that @zigs is a fisherman. Did he reel you in? Is there a good jukebox in the pub? ;)

Might give this a go. We have bad sclerosis in my area tho that might effect them.

My sunflowers looking good so far lol but a long way to go (y) I'll have to find a space in the garden and pop them in see what happens Hehe I'm confident they will get eaten by rabbits or something worse maybe

Man I just looked at the dates, i'm way behind. Last year, mine didn't really open up until early September. I always start everything late. Maybe i will still try :)

The slugs got half of the ones I had started, and put a serious hurting on the half they left me!  I'm going to plant some more. I wasn't thinking of trying for height, but maybe most flowers or charismatic cutie! :)
