I know its a bit early but with the long range forecast showing no signs of incoming cold weather and April 1 my normal planting date I just decided to start. I have squash, cucumbers, peppers, okra and melons ready to transplant but I am going to wait until the soil warms up a little more for them. Soil temperature now is 71F so I am starting with tomatoes. I planted the seeds Jan. 20 There are 13 varieties and a total of 96 plants. View attachment 17352 View attachment 17352

It's -5F here right now, with a snowcover of about 3 ft.(down from 12,YAY!)I will start my peppers this week, along with some asparagus. The blueberries were started from seed last week. I hope to get things into the greenhouse sometime in May, and out to the garden about June 15. Last frost here is usually the first week of June, after a nice stretch of beautiful weather, just to make sure we kill EVERYTHING !
