My mom puts egg shells, coffee grounds and sometimes cigarette ash on the soil of her plants. I have no idea that banana peels could also be used as plant nourishment. We often have bananas and just end up throwing those away. This is a good alternative to chemicals and practically free since we buy the fruit a lot.
