Hello, I am wondering what is going on with my apricot plant. It is about 3 months old already and the stem started browning. Is this normal for this type of plant?

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

Some of the roots pictured look healthy. The root system seems a bit reduced, but that may be from slow growth or from being dug up.
Hopefully you immediately re-potted your Apricot (Prunus armeniaca) after the photo.

Going forward, plant the seedling in a fast-draining mix. Water regularly, but allow the soil to drain and partly dry before the next irrigation. Of course, the plant should be in full sun. While it is in a container, fertilize on a schedule, with a complete liquid fertilizer.

Thank you for your kind answer, I immediatly re-potted it after taking the pic. The roots never felt mushy or soft to touch, specially the big ones. I hope it will survive and grow to be a healthy plant
