Hi all,

I purchased a Polygala Little Polly a couple of months ago and in that time it has been losing its purple flowers. It has endured a hot Australian Summer, but wondering if this is normal and if I should expect to see it flower again soon?

Thanks

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

Little Polly Milkwort (Polygala x dalmaisiana 'Little Polly') is an Australian dwarf selection of the popular hybrid Milkwort (Polygala x dalmaisiana), a hybrid of P. myrtifolia X P. fruticosa (formerly P. oppositifolia). Both parent species are native to South Africa.

Polygala x dalmaisiana can potentially bloom on and off year-round in a mild climate. Still, in my experience it flowers most heavily from late Spring into Summer, tapering off in early Fall.
Even when not in bloom, shrubby Polygala maintain an interesting and attractive presence with their smooth grey-green foliage.
