Hello! I'm new here and somewhat new to the house plant life. I recently got this Dieffenbachia (my first) from Home Depot and didn't notice any marks or anything on it, but a week or so after bringing it home it started to develop brown tips, and also what look like little cuts.
I've checked the leaves all over and I don't think I can SEE any bugs, but I'm not sure I'd be able to. The brown tips are pretty much just on the lower little leaves, but still. Any advice? Please and thank you!

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

It would be good to see a photo of the entire plant of this Dieffenbachia x 'Memoria Corsii' (or a similar cultivar).

If the dying leaves are only a few of the oldest leaves, there may not be any problem.
However if this is happening to newer growth or at a rate faster than replacement, then it is a concern.
The first step then is to review and improve irrigation frequency and drainage.

The minor scratches on the leaves look like mechanical damage. Exactly how or when that occurred is beyond my ken.

Thank you for your help! The leaves stopped yellowing, and new growth has been popping out like crazy! And the small cuts were, I think, just mechanical damage like you said!
