Hi all

I have a peace lily that has some unusual browning on the leaf. Can someone help me to identify the cause of this.

Repotted approx 1 month ago ( after splitting plant into 2). Used a good putting mix with an additive to keep soil moist.

Misted with spray bottle daily, watered weekly.

Thanks
Richard

What additive? Is this the "new" thing? Because it sounds like you had it going good before you divided it. And one month is not a long time for a slow grower. You may be seeing some shock from root displacement issues in addition to your "new" thing. That additive has calcium?

Thanks Upset Daisy and Dirtmechanic.

They are new plants for me, given to me in a healthy condition a few months ago, with the advice to repot.

The new additive is described as water crystal, this is present in the potting mix.

My gut feeling was either overwatering (would it show signs of root rot in such a short period?) or too much fertilizer... none of the images that I have googled have the sort of browning that my plant does. So I was hoping someone might be able to pinpoint my error.

I have backed off the watering and allowed them to droop a little between, as per your suggestion Upsy Daisy... over the past 2 weeks... maybe they just need a little longer to recover.

Appreciate the time you both took to reply.
