I had to hold my breath reading all these updates. Son was saying how terrifying the wind speed was. Keep safe and hope your greenhouse, trees and properties all safe and sound. Have you in our thought!

I know that I thought it scary last week when we had a meagre high wind. I could hear all the trees around us swishing and swaying. I can't even begin to know how terrifying and scared you all must be feeling.:(

The eye is REAL close, now. Weather projections........80-90 mph wind gusts for the next 3 to 3 1/2 hrs.
Stay safe my friend. We got lucky and missed the real bad stuff. Sounds like power is out in parts of town, but not everywhere. Waiting to hear back about my house. But sounds like the worst is over for Destin area.

Sure hope you get a happy report.......transformers blowing up all over Dothan. Our power has been out for an hour, now. Several panels blown out of the greenhouse, but it's still standing. No trees down, yet......which IS a miracle.

Early reports are damage lighter than expected. Beach area trees denuded and broke in half. Center of damage from Mexico beach they are saying, so further east of you is good

Every time you hear a really loud noise I want you to know its sayin "next time leave". Well, lower your deductible first of course!

Well, I'm speechless. @David from Dothan I hope you fared as well. We have no real damage. Some limbs down and tattered bananas. That's it. One large oak fell out back. It's actually just off my property and didn't hit anything. I can't believe there was enough wind to bring this down but nothing else is really damaged! Even my young fish pepper and cuke are just fine.Mo nature can be puzzling. We are about 30 miles from where I10 got shut down due to debris and we are heading over to a friend's grandmother's about an hour away 50 miles (last pic).

The devastation inflicted by Hurricane Michael came into focus Thursday

Media pics and a few vids, as always the media over hypes everything. The clean up has already started, in 6 months it will start to look back to normal. Year perhaps 2 the only noticeable will be a few lots people did not rebuild or sell the lot.

All things considered a few shingles are cheap and plywood decking is easily installed! My friend in PC lost his home and his business.
Our daughter-in-law's family lives in Panama City. Her aunt's 4-store antique shop, downtown, is gone, her brothers house is gone and all other relatives have trees on their homes and vehicles. For all intent and purposes, P.C. and Mexico Beach are. pretty much, gone.

Last night at 9:00 our power was restored (30 hours after outage). Had NO trees, limbs OR debris down on our property (the wall of angels surrounding us protected us, no doubt)......which is amazing considering that MOST of the neighborhood looks like a bomb went off in it. Did have 14 panels blown out of the greenhouse......most have been recovered and reinstalled. SOOOOO much devastation in the path's way......SOOOOOOO many lives affected.
