This plant came up in our flower bed, and we can’t decide what it is. My husband thinks Mimosa?

Thanks! It just keeps getting taller and taller! We started wondering if it was something else.

Are their pedicels usually that long? And do the pods curl up in a ball like that? It's been a long time since I've seen one and don't remember just how long they were.

We had mimosa tress in my childhood yard, but the seedpods were long and not curled up. Also the flowers were pink and white. I know there are other plants in that family.

This is bundleflower or prairie-mimosa (Desmanthus illinoensis). It is a member of the pea family native to much of eastern and central North America. The convolute cluster of legumes is distinctive.
