Hiiiiiiiii! This is my garden! When my family moved into this house my dad built this raised bed against the wall! He's considering tearing it down so the wall can be repaired.... Which makes me sad because for the last year I've been planting in it! (I started planting in it before he decided he wanted to tear down the wall.) I'm doing my best to build up the soil by planting beans and introducing worms (Worms don't do well in the natural soil here, but enjoy the garden beds), and by keeping the soil moist and planted. I use about 26 feet of it, and it's 3 feet deep, so I'm really lucky!
I know my garden looks scraggly, but the rest of the desert is well, scraggly-er! So my garden is like heaven to me. It's so beautiful to me! I have plantings planned out when it stops freezing in (according to Old Farmer's Almanac's website) early next month!
I'm excited for it to get warm again. I had my first ever harvest of tomatoes last spring. It was a small harvest, but really fun! I also grew ground cherries and I'm totally hooked!
Attached are images of my seedlings, my baby artichoke I've been growing, and my garden! I know it's not very lush or beautiful, but I love it a lot! Fresh snap peas are my favorite this season! Oh and leafy greens too!
