Amazing! No! Yes, they do flower the first year. Stunning how one tiny grain becomes such a big flower within a few months! Well done!

I have a new blood red one but the petals were so badly ravaged. Can't really post it on someone else's thread.

What now!!! Hadn't thought about doing that, Must remember that I'm not good at overwintering....would they need heat throughout the winter ?

We might be a bit late. Didn't you see Monty taking cuttings earlier! I did take some as I I broke it. I also listened to @Leeski and took some Toms and they look quite good.

Can't remember! About 1 month ago. Overwintering cuttings is a dodgy business. Don't you think?

Looked at several video links and most took cuttings around March/ April , when the new shoots were emerging from the tubers.

Monty takes dahlia cuttings when they start to grow in spring.

But he also took one later - last time he mentioned it was when he took them out of hardening box!
