Hi all,

I'm new to trying to get real plants living after giving up in the past when my large Bonsai got an insect infestation that nothing worked on and died.

I have a money tree, and it seems to be growing well. It's got a lot taller than it was in a short amount of time. However, it has got these strange patches appearing on the leaves. There's only the one large spot, the rest are fairly small. Google isn't really helping though as it gives a lot of suggestions for the same description.

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

This looks like a leaf spot disease.
First, be sure to give the plant the best care: bright light, regular water with good drainage, and occasional complete fertilizer application. Second, remove all the spotted leaves as soon as you see them, also apply a fresh layer of potting soil to the soil surface and top this with a pebble mulch. Spores or bacteria that spread the disease, can come from infected leaves and also possibly from the soil surface.
I don't like to go overboard with chemical methods, but a copper fungicide spray would be something to try.
