Main stem of plant injured

yesterday, i unintentionally injured my plant main stem while trimming grass with shearer. there’s white liquid coming out of the stem. the cut is not deep. just slight. not sure whether this plant will live. hope to get advice from this forum. tq

Depends on what plant, how deep and how far around the stem it's cut. Post some pics for a better answer.

Are you trying to show the blackened area midway up the trunk?

nope. the one i circle. injury to the stem due to slight cut
from shearer.

As long as the cut did not completely encircle the stem it "should" be OK. It will soon scab over. If you are to have any heavy winds you should stake the tree to avoid it breaking.

Good advice from @Chuck on staking it. The meristem should regrow over it.
