While digging up soils for new planting, I noticed there are so many large & soft white roots (photo 1 & 2). Last year I had digged them up during the soil preparation. But they are back and growing again this year. There is nothing planted in that area as shown in photo 3.
Does anyone know where these roots might come from? My theory is that they come from the neighbor plant behind the fence. They have 2 plants as shown in photo 4 and 5. But I am not sure.
